The same fitting takes an AC hose when the weather turns the other way, so one port covers winter warming and summer cooling. Our mounting is fairly universal and fits these third-party racks without issue, and the Cross 1200 MK2 includes all mounting hardware for the tent side of the joint. Whichever rack you use, its own dynamic weight rating still decides whether a rooftop tent can be carried, so check that figure alongside the clamps.

Never fold the Cross 1200 MK2 Rooftop Tent away damp. It is a soft shell that packs a large area of fabric into a small case, so any moisture you close in stays there until you next open it.

Dry It Before Pack-Down

Give the canvas time in sun or wind before you fold it, and check the seams, the floor corners and the fabric under the mattress. The 3 windows help reduce condensation overnight, so leave them open when the weather allows and there is less to dry.

Open It Again After A Wet Trip

If you broke camp in rain, set the tent back up at home and let it dry fully before it goes into storage. An afternoon on the driveway is usually enough, and it saves the fabric.

Treat any mildew spotting as soon as it appears. It is much easier to clean early than after the tent has been folded away for a season.
