Overview

The air box is the lungs of the 4WD, and the air filter can only handle so much dust before it either chokes or deteriorates allowing dust to enter the engine potentially causing serious mechanical damage.

The Ironman 4x4 Airforce Snorkel is designed and manufactured to the tightest of tolerances to ensure a perfect fit. The function of the snorkel is to capture cleaner and cooler air while travelling off-road, with the added function of raising your air intake away from river water during crossings.

By using computational fluid dynamics simulations and real-world testing, Ironman 4x4 engineers designed the snorkel not only to complement the shape of the vehicle but also to ensure airways are unobstructed allowing a constant flow of air.

The unique Ironman 4x4 angled ram-air head design deflects rain for superior airflow and water dispersion.

Constructed from UV-stabilized polyethylene plastic, the snorkel is made with longevity in mind, withstanding the harsh Australian sun.

This snorkel kit offers excellent fit and quality for off-road protection. Customers said it "fit like it was born there" and praised the "high quality product, very solid and well made." However, installation requires skill with some reporting template inaccuracies and unclear instructions. Most found the result worth the effort for water crossing protection.

Gx470 bumper

Honestly, this bumper kit needs a lot of work. The instructions and lack of templates to cut fenders was maddening. For 1600 dollars shipped I would expect some fender templates and some better instructions. Looking at other people’s experiences they also hate these instructions. My suggestion is to make them actual instructions instead of a collection of photos. Have pictures of the exact hardware used. And warn people of the need to relocate the window washer fluid tanks.

Great upgrade!

Fit like it was born there! Installation requires skills so take your time to do it right, don't take shortcuts!! I have not used it off road or deep water crossings yet, but this snorkel is looks like a dream!

Best fit snorkel kit I've installed/used!

First off shipping was very quick. I've installed a couple other name brand snorkels on GX's (all unfortunately rebranded amazon snorkel with their brand slapped on it) and ones straight from amazon/ebay all of which needed additional cutting to the snorkel and fittings to get a good fit. The install was an absolute breeze and there were no additional cuts or anything like that needed to fit. The template lined up perfect and everything fell into place after that. Would 10/10 recommend this snorkel to anyone in the market for one.

Solid bumper. Needs some work to make it fit

Great bumper, just takes a bit of cutting with the mounting brackets as they interfere with the power steering lines on the GX470. Only complaint is that it doesn't come with any D ring shackles. Not a place to mount them either. Took a while to get it all installed.

Snorkel Template / Shipping method

I'm glad I have the opportunity to write this. The snorkel install was very easy, but I have a few recommendations as far as the template goes. The template should be made from a rectangle sheet of paper that the customer has to cut out themselves. The template I received was poorly cut, jagged edges, etc. .

The reference lines used were not very accurate. I suggest using the passenger door, and the hood as ref points that the template (when cut correctly) will line up against both perfect, giving you a solid x and y plane location. I haven't met or seen a video online where the smaller holes (not the 4” diameter hole) we're not re-drilled or bored out. Aside from that I'm very happy with my purchases.

I also suggest letting customers know that if they choose Iron Mans shipping method, they won't receive a tracking number. Some of us don't live in the best areas where all our neighbors are trustworthy. Thank you.

Nice and smooth install

Installation was faster than I expected. It honestly took just as long to get everything disassembled as it did the actual install. I recommend checking template position a few times and take your time drilling your holes.

It's a good piece, nice f

It's a good piece, nice fit and finish. Install was simple and instructions were clear. Be prepared to answer questions like “are you going under water” and “is that your exhaust stack”. On a side note I have CBI Offroad ditch light brackets and I had to trim about 3/4” off of the bracket to clear the snorkel. No big deal and once installed you don't even notice.
