Overview

Built for the Extreme

Heavy-Duty Performance Suspension

Military Derived

WHY FOAM CELL PRO EXISTS

Foam Cell Pro didn’t start as a consumer product.

It started as a military requirement.

The original brief was simple and unforgiving: build a suspension system that could operate reliably in extreme heat and cold, carry the constant weight of up-armored vehicles, and survive day after day of harsh terrain and abuse — without failure or maintenance interruptions.

Complex adjustable valving wasn't the priority. Dependability was — so operators could focus on the mission, not their equipment.

That requirement shaped everything that followed.

Heavy duty shocks with green coil spring and oil damping cutaway protecting an off-road SUV on rugged terrain

THE MECHANISM

Foam Cell Technology — Built for Heat and Load

Most gas-charged shocks rely on pressurized nitrogen. Under prolonged heat and heavy use, that gas can aerate — leading to fade and inconsistent performance.

Foam Cell Pro takes a different approach.

By replacing nitrogen with a high-density foam cell sleeve, the system:

  • Eliminates cavitation
  • Maintains consistent damping
  • Handles extreme temperature swings
  • Performs reliably under constant load

This is why Foam Cell Pro excels in:

  • Long-distance touring• Heavy accessories (bumpers, winches, drawers)
  • Towing
  • Sustained off-road travel

Ride Quality

Suspension should start with the job required of it — not the spec sheet. Foam Cell Pro is engineered around that principle.

  • Controlled, planted behavior on road and trail
  • Predictable handling under load — bumper, winch, drawers, and all
  • Geometry maintained as your build adds weight over time

This is not a race shock, and it is not built for constant tuning. It is matched to the truck you are actually building — the one that gains weight with every accessory and needs to stay dialed in as it does.

That is the kind of quality you appreciate on year three, not just mile three.

Foam Cell Pro vs Remote Reservoir Shocks

What Remote Reservoir Shocks Are Optimized For

Remote reservoir shocks are excellent at:

  • Increasing total oil volume, improving thermal capacity
  • Improving heat management during repeated high-speed cycling
  • Often offer compression and/or rebound adjustability
  • Support performance-oriented valving for aggressive driving conditions (i.e. racing)

They are commonly chosen for:

  • High performance-focused builds designed for speed
  • Highly aggressive off-road driving styles
  • Applications involving repeated high-energy terrain
  • Owners who prefer tunable systems and understand servicing will be required

Remote reservoir shocks do not equal “better” but serve a different performance priority. Maintenance depends on usage, not just design.

What Foam Cell Pro Is Optimized For

Foam Cell Pro is engineered for:

  • Consistency over long distances
  • Constant vehicle load
  • Extreme temperature swings
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Set-and-forget reliability

Foam Cell Pro increases oil volume internally and replaces pressurized nitrogen with high-density foam, eliminating cavitation and reducing fade without external components.

Reviews

So far, I really like

"So far, I really like this lift. The biggest obstacle was getting the old components out. The installation with the help of the YouTube video was the easy part. The old Lexus now has a functioning suspension that has good on road manners and significantly better clearance off road. Plus, the stance is awesome!"

I waited roughly 90 days

"I waited roughly 90 days to leave this review so I could give everything a proper break-in and actively hunt for any issues. After 3 months of daily driving and trail time, I’m extremely impressed with the Foam Cell Pro 3. 5" kit. Vehicle Setup: Truck: 2020 Toyota Tundra CrewMax SR5 w/35" tires. Front Setup: No winch or heavy custom bumper—running Medium springs up front with front sway bar drop spacers installed - I already had those from a spacer kit I removed from the truck. Bed & Gear Weight: Full steel skid plates, Decked drawer system (always loaded with heavy tools), Softopper, Datin Fab rack, and during the summer, a 130 lb Smittybilt XL roof top tent mounted up top. Rear & Drivetrain: Heavy Duty leaf packs in the rear, rear sway bar completely removed, and installed the rear carrier bearing drop spacer. Installation, Break-In & Alignment: I tackled the installation in the garage using Ironman’s step-by-step YouTube video, which made the process very straightforward. A major tip for the install: having two people and keeping the truck on the ground was huge—those heavy-duty rear leaf packs are HEAVY! After the first few weeks, the new suspension settled in as expected and the alignment drifted slightly. I crawled back under the truck to re-torque all the hardware, then brought it back to the alignment shop for a final adjustment. With the new UCAs, the shop had no trouble dialing the specs in perfectly, and it has stayed dead straight ever since. Ride Quality & Load Performance: Yes, it is definitely stiffer than stock, but in the best way possible. This is our go-to family road trip vehicle—when loaded up with two kids, two dogs, luggage, and 4 bikes hanging off the hitch, the heavy-duty rear leaf packs carry the weight effortlessly without any rear-end sag. Even on solo daily drives, because my Decked drawers stay packed with tools, there’s enough constant weight in the bed that the heavy-duty spring rate feels firm, planted, and controlled. Body roll is virtually eliminated—even with the rear sway bar removed—and dropping the carrier bearing kept the driveline completely smooth. Off-road is where this setup is awesome. 30-45 mph down washboard dirt roads and soaking up big dips feels completely effortless—no shock fade, no wallowing, just smooth and damp. Maintenance & Build Quality: A big feature for me is that both the UCAs and the rear shackles feature grease zerks. Proper greasing during the install paid off—90 days in and I haven't heard a single squeak or creak from the polyurethane bushings. Bottom Line: Zero complaints and zero issues after three solid months of testing. If you’re on the fence, buy it. Ironman nailed the engineering on this setup for the 2nd Gen Tundra. I went with the green springs and they look awesome."

All parts worked well. My

"All parts worked well. My GX has a nice lift to it. It handles well. It did have a KDSS lean a few days after the install, but I got that fixed."

Foam cell pro

"I have the foam cell pro 3 inch front 2 inch rear set up. I ordered the front coils assembled. I chose the foam cell pro after watching some comparisons on tinkerers garage on YouTube for the overall quality, lack of maintenance other shocks required and expected longevity. I did go with the jba uca after a ton of research of various ucas available. I do wish I could have selected "no uca option" but still been able to order the rear lower control arms and rear sway bar links. The ride after installation: wow! Smooth, comfortable, feels new again but better. I liked the front sway bar relocation brackets, they just felt intuitively made. In the rear, I used a drkdss trac bar bracket vs a new adjustable bar. The rear shock nuts were a pain to get my fat fingers to get the nut started at first, but nothing bad. The shock quality really felt solid. I was worried at first because the part numbers on the rear shocks were 2 different numbers, (maybe ending fex and fes) or something, but both appear to be the same and ride great."

Looks Good; Feels Good

"I bought a brand new 2024 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium and immediately installed the TOY065AAKPS3P - Foam Cell Pro Suspension Stage 3 kit with medium rate springs. The ride on pavement was noticeably tighter. It corners like a sport sedan, and the nose dive while braking was now gone. I have done some mild off-roading and it does really well. I have towed a small camper and largest u-Haul trailer. Virtually no sag under load while towing. I really like this kit. It seems well engineered and well executed."

Definitely DIY installable, I’m replacing

"Definitely DIY installable, I’m replacing my first lift that is okay for a high school kid, I’m 70 so comfort is key on my fly fishing outings , my 17 ,6 speed manual Tacoma is decked out fully ."

So far so good

"I have had this 3. 5in foam cell pro lift for a couple years now and didnt want to leave a review right off the bat. I have medium duty springs front and back. At the time they only had the black springs for an option. Personally I would have rather had the green springs but oh well. I also have the upper control arms. The kit has served me well. I dont do alot of extreme off roading but have done some. The ride has been good on and off road. Better than the factory trd offroad setup. It took out the lean in the corners for the most part When I 1st had it installed it was a little noisy for the 1st 4 month or so in the front springs as far as squeeking sounds intermittently getting in and out of the truck and taking slow corners but it has worked its self out and I haven't noticed the sqeeks in a while. Customer service was great to work with and no matter how dumb my question was they took the time to answer. I would like to get their front bumper next but time and money will tell for that one day."

I love the new look and feel

"Had the 2” Foam Cell Pro lift kit installed and I immediately fell in love with the way my 200 series Land Cruiser looked after. Though it’s higher than 2” and it’s still new and settling in. I bought it to upgrade my worn out factory suspension. And to do some off-roading. Haven’t had the chance to test that out yet. But the ride is still comfortable for regular day to day driving, just looks better doing it now. Pics don’t do the looks justice."

Jess C. (5/5)

Great quality, customer service is

"Great quality, customer service is top notch. Was not as simple to install as video implied, but took it to a shop and they installed for me. Stoked on the finished product, just what I needed for when my camper shell is installed."
