Overview

Built for the Extreme

Heavy-Duty Performance Suspension

Military Derived

WHY FOAM CELL PRO EXISTS

Foam Cell Pro didn’t start as a consumer product.

It started as a military requirement.

The original brief was simple and unforgiving: build a suspension system that could operate reliably in extreme heat and cold, carry the constant weight of up-armored vehicles, and survive day after day of harsh terrain and abuse — without failure or maintenance interruptions.

Complex adjustable valving wasn't the priority. Dependability was — so operators could focus on the mission, not their equipment.

That requirement shaped everything that followed.

THE MECHANISM

Foam Cell Technology — Built for Heat and Load

Most gas-charged shocks rely on pressurized nitrogen. Under prolonged heat and heavy use, that gas can aerate — leading to fade and inconsistent performance.

Foam Cell Pro takes a different approach.

By replacing nitrogen with a high-density foam cell sleeve, the system:

  • Eliminates cavitation
  • Maintains consistent damping
  • Handles extreme temperature swings
  • Performs reliably under constant load

This is why Foam Cell Pro excels in:

  • Long-distance touring• Heavy accessories (bumpers, winches, drawers)
  • Towing
  • Sustained off-road travel

Ride Quality

Suspension should start with the job required of it — not the spec sheet. Foam Cell Pro is engineered around that principle.

  • Controlled, planted behavior on road and trail
  • Predictable handling under load — bumper, winch, drawers, and all
  • Geometry maintained as your build adds weight over time

This is not a race shock, and it is not built for constant tuning. It is matched to the truck you are actually building — the one that gains weight with every accessory and needs to stay dialed in as it does.

That is the kind of quality you appreciate on year three, not just mile three.

Foam Cell Pro vs Remote Reservoir Shocks

What Remote Reservoir Shocks Are Optimized For

Remote reservoir shocks are excellent at:

  • Increasing total oil volume, improving thermal capacity
  • Improving heat management during repeated high-speed cycling
  • Often offer compression and/or rebound adjustability
  • Support performance-oriented valving for aggressive driving conditions (i.e. racing)

They are commonly chosen for:

  • High performance-focused builds designed for speed
  • Highly aggressive off-road driving styles
  • Applications involving repeated high-energy terrain
  • Owners who prefer tunable systems and understand servicing will be required

Remote reservoir shocks do not equal “better” but serve a different performance priority. Maintenance depends on usage, not just design.

What Foam Cell Pro Is Optimized For

Foam Cell Pro is engineered for:

  • Consistency over long distances
  • Constant vehicle load
  • Extreme temperature swings
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Set-and-forget reliability

Foam Cell Pro increases oil volume internally and replaces pressurized nitrogen with high-density foam, eliminating cavitation and reducing fade without external components.

Reviews

Looks Good; Feels Good

"I bought a brand new 2024 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Premium and immediately installed the TOY065AAKPS3P - Foam Cell Pro Suspension Stage 3 kit with medium rate springs. The ride on pavement was noticeably tighter. It corners like a sport sedan, and the nose dive while braking was now gone. I have done some mild off-roading and it does really well. I have towed a small camper and largest u-Haul trailer. Virtually no sag under load while towing. I really like this kit. It seems well engineered and well executed."

Definitely DIY installable, I’m replacing

"Definitely DIY installable, I’m replacing my first lift that is okay for a high school kid, I’m 70 so comfort is key on my fly fishing outings , my 17 ,6 speed manual Tacoma is decked out fully ."

So far so good

"I have had this 3. 5in foam cell pro lift for a couple years now and didnt want to leave a review right off the bat. I have medium duty springs front and back. At the time they only had the black springs for an option. Personally I would have rather had the green springs but oh well. I also have the upper control arms. The kit has served me well. I dont do alot of extreme off roading but have done some. The ride has been good on and off road. Better than the factory trd offroad setup. It took out the lean in the corners for the most part When I 1st had it installed it was a little noisy for the 1st 4 month or so in the front springs as far as squeeking sounds intermittently getting in and out of the truck and taking slow corners but it has worked its self out and I haven't noticed the sqeeks in a while. Customer service was great to work with and no matter how dumb my question was they took the time to answer. I would like to get their front bumper next but time and money will tell for that one day."

I love the new look and feel

"Had the 2” Foam Cell Pro lift kit installed and I immediately fell in love with the way my 200 series Land Cruiser looked after. Though it’s higher than 2” and it’s still new and settling in. I bought it to upgrade my worn out factory suspension. And to do some off-roading. Haven’t had the chance to test that out yet. But the ride is still comfortable for regular day to day driving, just looks better doing it now. Pics don’t do the looks justice."

Great quality, customer service is

"Great quality, customer service is top notch. Was not as simple to install as video implied, but took it to a shop and they installed for me. Stoked on the finished product, just what I needed for when my camper shell is installed."

Becca W. (5/5)

This is the 2nd kit

"This is the 2nd kit I've purchased from Ironman. Planned to install it in a couple of weeks. 1st kit was great."

Switched to Foam Cell Pros from Bilstein 8112’s

"I made the switch to Foam Cell Pros from Bilstein 8112’s on my 5th gen 4Runner. I ran the 8112’s for 2 years and they were great units however they were always noisy (normal due to internals per Bilstein) and the Bilstein zinc shock body finish is garbage- regardless of using FluidFilm to protect in the winter months. I was most impressed with the quality and fit/finish of the Ironman kit and what a stellar ride you get with the Ironman setup. The whole kit was well packaged. The only issue I had with install was having to lookup on the Ironman YouTube page was the correct orientation of the rear shock top mount bushing. It would be nice if that was explained in the directions provided but easy enough to watch their video to see exactly the right order of washers etc. When I placed my order on a Tuesday night my items did not ship out until the following Monday which was frustrating however the fedex shipping got the package to me by that Wednesday. I am happy with this product and would recommend it to other 5th gen 4Runner owners. I hope the finish on these suspension components hold up better than the Bilstein. Thanks."

AG (5/5)

Easy install, fast shipping, great ride

"Arrived quickly, only problem with delivery was one of my rear shocks poked out of the box and I was worried about the threads being messed up but everything was good. Install took about 4 hours for all 4 corners. I’m convinced my truck is higher than 2 inches but the factory rake was kept and it looks great. I went with heavier springs front and rear, the front was just light load but I went medium with accessories in the rear and it is heavy duty. Body roll is almost non existent, it takes hard hits much easier now. The ride is much stiffer but I knew what I was getting into. Once overlanding season rolls around again I’ll have more weight in the bed and it should even out. Overall very happy, I only have about 500 miles on the lift so far and haven’t taken it offroad. One suggestion I have for anyone getting this kit is to get extended brake lines or a bracket to relocate brake lines. Tundras are very short in the rear. I would go with the extended panhard bar better yet a panhard bar relocation bracket that."

Blake (5/5)

Absolutely great lift kit! All

"Absolutely great lift kit! All the parts are great quality and the install went smoothly. No clunks or bumps, and the ride is much better than before. 100% recommend!"

Margie e. (5/5)

Great ride easy to install one stop shop

"I love the lift. It’s a one stop shop no matching components from different companies. No trial and error. The only thing I would have done differently is go with the additional load vs the gvw load rear leafs due to the hard ride . Other wise i 100% recommend this kit. Took my taco on a 2000 mile trip immediately after install fully loaded the truck drive like a dream, not bouncy just firm but comfortable ."

Q&A

What’s the weight capacity on these?
It depends on if you pick the medium or heavy load leaf springs!
I have a constant weight of about 600lb (camper + decked system). I assume I need the heavy load springs, will I need shims and will this shift my axle forward?
Heavy load springs would work best. We do have wedges for pinion angle correction if needed but it will not shift your axel.
Do your kits come with front differential drop kit and rear driveshaft spacer kit?
These kits come with a rear driveline carrier bearing spacer kit only. We do offer a front differential kit part# IDD065
Does this require lift kit? Just trying to change my rear leaf spring
Yes it will raise the rear end about 3"!
Are the medium load springs made for a 6in lift.
They are made for a 3 inch lift!
