One of our distributors – 7 Day Spares is getting involved in this epic event, travel nearly 3,700km in cars worth less than $1,000! This will be the second time Dion Coulls and Kellie Lowery will participate in the Rally. This year they’ll be driving a 1984 Mercedes which they intend to drive from Canberra to Townsville!
Participants in the Rally must also raise a minimum of $4,000, and Dion and Kellie are on track to reach this!
The journey itself is seven long days of “dirt driving, dust, breakdowns, hungry … you get sick of bacon and eggs for breakfast,”. There are more than 200 cars in the Rally this year, and participants travel in groups of eight cars, camping together each night on the road.
“It’s a hell of a lot of fun, take it from me,” says Dion.
