The Classic Off Road Bumper is engineered for the 2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser and replaces the factory front bumper with a 2-part steel assembly: a winch tray that mounts around the front of the chassis, and the bumper shell that bolts over it. That split is the point: it puts the winch in the strongest and safest position for demanding recoveries and stops the shell twisting under load. [card] A-frame triple loop design The bumper is an A-frame triple loop in steel, with tough polyurethane bumpers, and side and under guards protecting the lower front corners and the underside. [/card] [card] Approach angle This fitment brings a great approach angle enhancement, which is the clearance you gain at the front dropping into a rut or climbing out of one. [/card] [info] Tested, not just built: the FJ Cruiser Classic bumper is ADR 69, 73 approved for Full Frontal and Offset Impact Occupant Protection, and it is air bag tested and certified. [/info]

What's included with this bumper kit?

Five items come in the FJ Cruiser Classic kit, and the lighting is already sorted: [card] Winch ready bumper with install hardware and instructions The bumper shell arrives winch ready, and both the install hardware and the fitting instructions are in the box. [/card] [card] Fog lights with wiring harness 55W H3 fog lights, supplied with their wiring harness. [/card] [card] LED running lights and turn signal lights LED parking and turn signal lights are included, so the front indicators go back on when the factory bumper comes off. [/card] [card] Side and under guards Extra steel for the lower corners and the underside of the front end. [/card] The bumper also carries an antenna mount and Hi-lift Jack points, and the steel is pre-treated for rust resistance and finished in durable AKZO NOBEL Black Powder Coat.

What winch fits this bumper?

The Classic Off Road bumper for the 2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser is winch ready and the winch tray is included, but we don't publish a mounting footprint or capacity figure for it, so check your winch against the tray itself before you buy. [card] The tray mounts to the chassis, not the shell The winch tray mounts around the front of the FJ Cruiser's chassis rather than on the bumper shell. That puts the winch in the strongest and safest position for demanding recoveries and prevents any twisting of the shell when you are pulling hard. The tray is included in the kit. [/card] [card] Match the bolt pattern to the tray Compare the hole spacing on your winch's mounting feet to the holes in the supplied winch tray. That is the pattern that has to agree. [/card] [card] Check the winch body for clearance Drum length, motor housing size, and control box placement all affect whether a winch sits properly in the tray and behind the bumper shell. A matching bolt pattern on its own does not settle it. [/card] [card] Clutch handle and fairlead This bumper is built with clutch handle access and line visibility, so make sure your clutch handle ends up reachable and the fairlead lines up square with the drum for an even line lay. Do the fog lights come with a wiring harness?

Yes. The FJ Cruiser Classic bumper ships with 55W H3 fog lights and their wiring harness , plus LED parking and turn signal lights, so the bumper arrives as a lit assembly rather than a bare shell with empty cutouts. [card] Integrated fog lights The fog lights sit integrated in the bumper and are there to improve the night driving experience, since more light on the road is more warning about what is in it. [/card] [card] LED parking and turn signal lights The LED running lights and turn signal lights are part of the kit too, so the front parking and indicator lighting goes back on with the new bumper instead of being left on the factory one. [/card] [info] What is left to wire: the fog light harness is supplied, so the electrical work is connecting the bumper's lighting rather than building a loom from scratch. [/info]

Is this something I can install at home?

Yes! The FJ Cruiser Classic bumper goes on in a set order: mount the winch tray to the chassis , wire in your winch, then bolt up the bumper shell over the top. Install hardware and instructions ship with the winch ready bumper, so the sequence and the fasteners are already worked out for you. [info] The wiring is the other half of the job: fog lights, LED running lights and turn signal lights all need connecting, and the fog light harness is supplied for that. [/info] It is a steel bumper carrying side and under guards, so we recommend a second set of hands or a hoist when you lift the shell into place, simply because of the sheer weight and size of it. Just Badass

The title says it all. This thing is beefy and nice. Well-constructed and thought out. Fits the FJ like a glove. Easy installation, although if you're not an electrical guy (I'm not), I'd consider having the wiring for the lights done by a professional (my appointment is scheduled for next week). Not an easy plug and play when the FJ OEM bumper doesn't actually have light fitments, but everything else is straight forward and easy.

FJ Cruiser Classic Bumper and winch install

The shipping was fast and the bumper was really well protected during its trip across the country, arriving without a scratch. The install went well. The only issue was too many M8 bolts and not enough M12 bolts in the hardware package. The instructions provided are very basic. Go online to see the PDF with color pictures - it helps a little. The bumper fits and looks great.
I ordered during the early black Friday event and received the 12k lbs Frontier winch for free - it's awesome!

2008 FJ Cruiser

IMO best Looking front bumper on the market. Looks even better in person. I would describe this bar as if Toyota built a winch bumper for the FJ this would be it. I looked at ever bumper on the market and this one had everything going for it from the winch tray to the fog and marker lights. I would highly recommend purchasing this bumper without a doubt.

Awesome piece of rig!

I am very happy and impressed by this piece of rig. The install was okay, but the printed instructions are not exactly specific and I had to go google a lot, thank goodness for the FJCruiser Forum and YouTube. . . . LOL
I installed the bumper all on my own using a shop crane I purchased for this purpose. My friends had offered help but never could coordinate. . .
The genius portion of the install was the winch part. The engineer who designed it is obviously a user also. The installation of the winch before the bumper was easy and straightforward and keeps things doable for a single installer.
The hardest part for me was getting the bumper leveled and aligned properly, took me a few tries but finally got it.
The install manual states that it should take 3 hrs to finish it. . . I think that would be a professional installation by someone who does this all the time. All on my own, it took me a day and a half, part of that was the one morning driving to and from the store for the shop crane and assembling that. . . . YMMV

Sent wrong part

Shipped me the wrong mounting bracket for me bumper. Customer service was lack luster to say the least. Had the bumper shipped then, I had to take the the wrong one and then go back 3 days later to get the new one. Meanwhile my rig was torn apart for 3 days. I was really surprised they did nothing to compensate me after all the trouble. What has ever happened to good customer service?

By far my favorite mod. This bumper is exactly how I wanted to start my build. Fit and finish are perfect. Everything about this bumper was done right. Works with my TRD skid plate and pre-drilled holes for my KC fog lights.
